I have been greatly enjoying looking through this wedding months later and sighing for Spring. This beautiful wedding was photographed last May at the Woodrow Wilson Presidential Library Gardens.

There are those souls you meet in life that leave a lasting ripple, Ones that cause irrevocable impressions upon our lives. Olivia and Thomas were just that for me. I had an instant connection with both of them and can simply not get over how truly alive their love was and how deep their zeal for life permeated every moment we had spent together. Their wedding was nothing short of many ripples, alive and zealous as they touched us all.

Garden roses and greenery winding and flourishing in every direction. As you can tell I was rather wild about this wedding. That DRESS. I’ve never seen such a dress. I was rather obsessed, I’m sure I wasn’t the only one who had to lift their chin from the floor when I first saw Olivia in it. Muted peach, dusty pink, purple and gold – such a lovely vintage color pallet.

It really was a day of the heart. I cannot get over the look in Olivia’s Father’s eyes as he held her hand to his lips, the tears that came during Thomas’ Mother Son dance, Olivia’s mother always looked as if she was holding the most spectacular joy inside and Olivia’s brother having that look of utmost pride. I can still remember those connections, months later, feel them on my heart like a fingerprint. Thank you, Olivia and Thomas for giving me that gift and congratulations to the both of you!

It has been immense fun reliving all the energy and twinkle lights from Kate and Andy’s Stevenson Ridge holiday wedding from last December 2016. I can’t get over all the delicious moody light, cozy plaid and the enchanting holiday glow in every direction.
Kate and Andy’s love is absolute. It floods the room with light and it’s impossible not to feel the warmth. The support of their friends and their family is unmistakably evident as you look through the pictures. Not just by the obvious hugs and kisses from mom, but that something deep in their eyes. That to me is what I most value in my job. Capturing THAT. That hint of the spark inside the soul, rather than what’s plainly obvious. To see so plainly how One felt in that fraction in time. I almost wish I could have turned the camera around to see myself. Because I remember looking at others as a mirror, grinning as they grinned and feeling so full as I not only captured but witnessed their wide open hearts.
It was such an honor being there with you, Kate and Andy. Congrats on a whole year of being hitched!

A huge shout out to all the incredible vendors I had the pleasure of working with!

What a gorgeous wedding at this private residence with Mallory and Charlie. You can thank this family for creating one of our favorite local beers in Virginia, Devil’s Backbone! They were such a pleasure to work with and their farm was an absolutely stunning location. Not to mention all of the earthy and rustic touches… I was practically drooling over every single detail.

Mallory and Charlie described their relationship as adventurous. When I heard that, along with the fact that Charlie proposed on a mountain top (Donner Summit in Tahoe, CA) I knew they were my type of couple. I had such a blast with the bridal party – as you can see from the photos below, their energy was hard to beat. I also made friends with their sweet fur-baby pup, who I couldn’t get enough pictures of. Seeing the connection and feeling the depth of love surrounding Mallory and Charlie was such an honor to witness.

A huge shout out to all these crazy awesome vendors!
